Happy St George's Day!

Having taken the plunge and made the permanent move from England to New Zealand, this website (not blog, hate that word) was born out of sheer bone idleness. Emailing people to tell them what I was up to over here sounded like far too much effort. Now the effort is squarely on the shoulders of my readers who have to trawl through regular tales of drunken nights out and quiz questions. Enjoy...

Brilliant! I expect your customers will be delighted when they find you asleep in the compost heap surrounded by bottles of vodka.
I am in planning mode - December you are back in the UK? How about a big 'Donny boys' versus 'Watson Wyatt' 11-a-side (or 7-a-side, or even 5-a-side, depending on how many remember you and want to see you again) footie match. This would pit my organisational skills against those of the spritely and energetic 30-year-old Heyesie. What a match.
Thoughts?
St. George was born in Germany to Argie parents.
Scientific fact that.
Gwlaaaaaaaad, GWLAAAAAAAAD, pleidiol wyf i'm gwlad etc.
The Mancs are on TV in the CL semi at the mo. Let's hope it's the right result.
(a few hours later)
ffs.
"Britannia, she’s half English, she speaks Latin at home
St George was born in the Lebanon, how he got here I don’t know
And those three lions on your shirt,
They never sprang from England’s dirt
Them lions are half English and I’m half English too"
unfortunateky, i am..
Acres - that's a great idea. I'm sure it will be a spectacular day playing to a big crowd, at a decent ground, with a proper ref, a feed afterwards and a bar all set up. I wouldn't expect any less with you and Heyes at the helm (so to speak).
Dunc/Millhouse - we all descended from apes, or, going even further back, specks of dust. As St George is the patron saint of England, the country of my birth (hence the one I have the most affinity for, even though it's shit), I like to acknowledge his day.
quandary:
he winks on the left, he winks on the riiiiight....
(the verse before was from a billy bragg song, by the way, from his song england half english, which is a more positive view on england and english nationalism than you may think. lyrics here - you may find this article of his quite interesting too here
