Bar flies...

The quiz last night was a marked improvement. We finished only a few points off the top, but still out of the prize money. There were 9 of us in total, so that may explain the upturn in fortunes.

My personal highlights were...

A poker question - asking what 'heads up' meant in a casino.

And there was a question about a song, and the film it came from - the answer being Two Weeks Notice (pretty embarrassed about knowing that one). All those hours put in watching romcoms has paid off.

A lowlight was getting this wrong...

Which country's flag is this?

I said Guernsey at a guess. In hindsight, not a good guess as Guernsey isn't a country. Si had another answer (the correct one as it happens), but I thought I'd seen that flag many a time before, and never noticed a hand print in the middle of it. You live and learn.

The best thing about the night though was seeing an advert for a weekly poker night in the same pub. I did some e-digging today and found a bit more info, needless to say I'll be there pretty much every week. Especially as it soon to be our local (more on that soon)...

Correct.

Sounds like we could have done with that guy on our side when we were strolling through the back streets of Athens after the main game. Hotly pursued by the local firm of dangerous looking teenagers on scooters.

What happened to our big online game? I still wouldn't mind doing that.

Me and Pete in boring, long-winded sports debate that gets on everyone else's nerves?

Nah, don't buy it for a second.

Lunt, big online game whenever - set it up.
